Oil loss

On a 1988 chevy truck I have to keep putting oil in it but it dont leak and dont smoke at all

Check your pcv system, and compression. Then with a vehicle that old you may have valve seals worn out as well as maybe vavle guide wear. If you are using 1quart per thousand miles don't worry about it.
