What is the fuel pressure?

To check the fuel pressure, disconnect the fuel line from the TBI unit and install the pressure gauge in the fuel line. Connect a jumper wire from the poss (+) terminal on the bttry to the G terminal of the ALDL. TBI should be 9-13 psi. PFI or SFI should be 34-46 psi.

It may be an in-line filter in the fuel line. I had one plug up completely. It's located just ahead of the TBI unit on some, or to the left of the fuel tank on others. It's cheap and probably needs to be replaced anyway.

Let me correct some misinformation here.
You do not disconnect any fuel lines. There is a service port right on the fuel rail to test the pressure. The spec is 40.5 to 47, key on engine off or 30.5 to 44 with engine idling.
The fuel filter will not cause a no start on it's own but it can lead to a fuel pump failure if it's restricted for a long period of time. Please get me a fuel pressure reading and we can go from there.

That proceedure is right out of the manual, the proceedure is sound. I reasoned by his question that markanthony43 may need a little help and guidance on getting the fuel pressure. Again, trying to help. Please refer to your msgs WT.

That info may have come from some generic book but it does not apply to this vehicle. This car doesn't even have TBI.
