1987 Toyota MR2 trying to properly install distributor

whats the proper procedure

bring cylinder 1 up to tdc, use finger in plug hole for compression an dpointer on harmonic balancer when you get to it. then point dist rotor to number 1 andinstall so it's pointing number1 then time engine after assembled. see pic.

theres three marks on the balancer which is top dead center

we dont' have pics of that in our manual so when you bring it up to Number 1 it should be the one coming up to the timng mark on cover. also lyou need a jumper wire to set the timing I forgot that here is pic
