My car will start fine on first turn, then on occasions the glow plug light on the dash flashes and she will crank over but not fire at all? We have managed to turn the key on and off and catch the ignition to fire the engine but this has been more by luck.

Glow/heater plugs have been checked by a professional (no problem found) it appears that the glow plug flashing light is a code, but we cannot receive a code of the car? when plugged into diagnostics.

Car is a 2Ltr TD this is very odd, like I say she will be fine for days/weeks then all of a sudden you go to start it and the light flashes and it game over unless you are lucky.

Any ideas? we are fast running out of options. could it be the manufacturer immobiliser I wonder

What is the flash rate, do you have voltage at the glow plugs and what is it, if you crack open an injector pipe do you have fuel pressure at cranking speed?
