wont start now at all

car only starts in neutral but now it doesnt start at all

does it crank? Is your starting & charging system good? I would check the neutral safety switch.

This merc doesn't have a neutral safey switch. need to check the starter lock-out / back-up switch. easy way to check is have someone see if your reverse (back-up) lights work when Reverse gear is selected.
