Where is the fuel Going?

87 mazda 626 brand new tune up wires, spark plugs, gaped, oil change, air filter all done. I put 25 dollars in the tank half a tank. I wil go and take a corner gas needle goes almost to "E" comes up very slowly. And 20 mins of driving the fuel light comes on. My buddy said it might be the fuel floats please help.

You first need to do an economy test, fill the tank and zero the trip meter, do as close to 100Km's and re fill note the distance covered, re fill car for fuel used this will give you an economy reading average only. Do this and let me know the readings.

Problem. I left Stanwood Wa With Alittle over a half a tank of gas That was $25.00 arrived in Seattle WA 60 mins later "red fuel light " came on Put $10 more dollars in the Tank brought it between 1/4 and 1/2 Drove from tukwila wa to Auburn Wa Which is 15 mins buy the time I got to auburn " red Fuel light " It doesnt Smoke, It doesnt Sputter, Im really confused

Do a scan for fault codes, not all faults will set a check light.

Why do I scan for fault codes its not a check engine light, its my tank is empty light. When I just put 50 dollars into the tank drive 20 miles while driving on that 50 dollars worth of gas the gauge must be broke

Just to confirm your problem, you are concerned that the fuel gauge is dropping quickly correct? But is this also with poor fuel economy or just the gauge being inaccurate? If just the gauge replace the sender unit, if it is poor economy do as I suggested in earlier post.
