1987 honda civic itermitenly won't start. sometimes when key is turned the dash lights come on but nothing happens.I can wait up to 2 mintues to 2 days and then the car will start. Why is this happening. The car is automatic and the neutral safety switch has been bypassed and the problem still happens.

When this happens, I need you to check to see if there is power to the starter. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power to the smaller wire on the starter. There should be 12+ volts.

Let me know what you find.
