Good morning,
I have been having difficulties locating the distributor hold down bolt on my ford ranger 1987. I swear it is non-existent!! Any advice on how to find it? We have tried numerous times looking at different angles and are still unable to locate it. The engine space is quite limited and is very difficult to see. We looked from below, from bird's eye view and we even dismantled the air filter in the hopes to get a better look.

Just a thought. Have you tried using a flashlite and a mirror to illuminate the base of distributor? With a tight fitting area, it can be trying to get the mirror in the right position. Shine the fashlite into the mirror.

I was trying to butt-in, just killing time.

let me rephrase, I WASN'T trying to butt-in. Sometimes, my mind and my typing don't work at the same speed.
