1987 dodge ram w-100 5.2L v8 318 The carburetor keeps overflooding. Is that the float being stuck or needle?

gas bubbles out the carb when it is cranked.

yes or dirt on needle seat.

How can i clean it or knock the dirt free? with a screw driver or hammer?

sometimes tapping on carb will clear it but if say needle mechanism jammed or the float itself is bad because of leak and not working then disassembly will be required.
