HOW CAN YOU TELL IF THE MASTER CYLINDER IS BAD ?

Pedal pumps up then goes to the floor ( no brakes at all ) master cylinder holds fluid . 1987 dodge dakota

If you are experiencing a pedal drop and you are not losing fluid, it can only be the master cylinder or the ABS unit and i doubt you have one of those on the '87 so it's likely the master.
