remover instructions ring and pinion gears of a 1987 s10 truck

The ring gear is held in by the two carrier bearings. Once it is out, the pinion bearing is held in by the pinion bearing (nut on outside) between the differential and the u-joint. Once it is off, use a rubber mallot or a to tap the pinion from the differential housing.
