1987 Chevrolet S-10 wont go into park

i have a 1987 s10 pickup and it wont go into park it goes in every other gear theres no grinding noise or anything suspicious just won go into park did new plugs and wires and oil change just will not go into park any suggestions?

If you select park and the transmission does not lock up, I would expect that the park locking pawl has broken and not engaging the planetary drum gear set. Normally not a huge problem, you may be able to see this with the transmission pan removed.
