1987 2.5L Chevy S-10 pick-up how hard is it to replace ECM

Reading in manual said this may fix 2 problems with loping idle andpinging and knocking with load on engine.

The computer just unplugs if you get a new or refurbished computer make sure you get one already programed. There are places that sell the computer and you give them your vin and they program to your truck.
