I am trying to locate where the Safety Interlock module is on my 1987 Chev Nova? Can you help with that?

I could not find any mention of such a module in our database. What is the problem you are facing and why are you looking for this component?

I may not have the correct name but the service people called it that. It is the ignition safety interlock, when the car needs to be in Park or neutral. I know it is a changeable module about 2 inches square, but I don't know where it is physically located.

I just noticed your web sites article "How a Neutral Safety Switch Works". That is the module I am looking for the location of in the car. The repair price of $450.00 sounded pretty high to me.

Such components are rather pricey if bought new. Try the junk yard, you might be able to get one cheaply. It is attached to the transmission, behind the lever where the shift cable is attached to. Component circled in red is the item.
