Hi,

The code is for a mass air flow sensor (MAF). It is located between the air filter box and the throttle body in the air induction tube. See pic 1.

If you look at pic 2, it shows the procedure for replacement.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Okay, awesome! Rock Auto parts catalog showed a different style. Thanks for clearing that up!

Will this malfunction have anything at all to do with transmission shifting?

Hi,
In some cases, a faulty MAF can cause shift pattern changes. Is that what you experience?

Yes, the car shifts into gear. Then it moves a tad and goes nowhere like into neutral but with the car shifter still in gear.

I am waiting on the thermostat, intake air sensor and IAC to come in the mail. I am weary of ordering the master air flow sensor on the intake in-between the filter housing and throttle body to be honest, because of the shifting problem and the fans not turning on, but I could use the car and I am going to order it soon. I will get that video recorded once I get the before mentioned parts this week. And then wait for the MAF.

By the way, I still not sure if this car has the MAP sensor. I bought it. Rockauto showed it their parts catalog for this application but I can't find it anywhere on the engine.
I've attached a picture of it below.

Thanks so far for the advice. Getting the link to direction to pull engine codes helped me out.

According the Alldata service manual, it has a MAF which is in place of the MAP.

Let me know how things turn out for you.
