Do an internet search for "GM instrument cluster repair" and you'll see it's a pretty common problem. I've had pretty good luck repairing some older Chrysler clusters but I never attempted a GM. The last one I sent out went to "Advanced Automotive Electronics" on the east coast. Had it back in a week for $250.00. That was less than what I was quoted.
