trans leak

i have an 86 jeep wagoneer that is leaking trans fluid the guy i got the jeep from said that the rear seal is not on rite and that is where the leak is coming from what do i d0o from here

The tail shaft must be removed and the old seal will lever out with a seal puller tool or a screw driver, carefully knock in a new seal, and replace the tail shaft, check fluid levels.
