Transmission problems

I have a 1986 ford pickup f250 3/4 ton, and changed the bell housin and put all back together and its stuck in first gear, but when I stick the gear shifter down in the transmission it wont shift into any gear.

It's probably stuck in another gear so you'll have to check all the linkage. I'm taking it that this is a stick shift.

Yes 4 speed t19 trans. Its stuck in first gear but when you put the shifer down in the trans. It falls straight down and acts like the shifter aint in first gear.
