windsheild wipers

my windshield wipers went out on my 1986 chrysler newyorker and i put a new motor in it and it want come on but i can move the wiper blades with my hand from side to side what might be the problem?

If you can move them by hand, the linkage is disconnected that attaches the motor to the wipers. Remove the cowl at the base of the windshield to access the linkage. Check that and let me know what you find.

yes i found that the link that held the two wipers had come aloose and fell down in their i got the link and dont really know how to put it back on but if you tell me i will try it i'm a single mother trying to do it for myself and i appreiciate your help the motor was very easy but this link is challenging but i can do it, it also looks worn the plastic part around the link
