check the fusible links connected to starter, one of a couple may have failed.

I found a red wire from the starter burnt out and the end from the starter was live so I spliced the ends together and now I have dash power and heater fan when I turn the key but it won't turn over. Trying to check if maybe it damaged another wire in the harness when it burnt out. Any thoughts? All fuses show power now but fuse marked int. battery showed low so I hooked another old battery to it with jumpers so it read it the middle and still nothing.

Hi. I've been checking all the wiring under the hood and I still have no ignition. I found a light blue wire that is live when the key is turned on. It comes out of a sensor I believe that is under the back side of the distributor. It almost looks like it clips into the back of the engine. Can't really see. I can't figure out what the loose end of the wire goes to but it has to power something. The clip it comes out of also has a brown w white stripe and a dark blue wire coming out of it. I believe they go into the firewall to the ECM ? The ECM looks like it has a light blue wire coming out of it the same color and with a test light it has no power. Any thoughts? I couldn't find any more bad fusable links and still have dash power but no crank or headlights. Thanks

the red wire you cut then put directly to the starter needs a fusible link otherwise your truck will catch on fire that is what its' there for. check all these other ones thenit will probably start you probably have another one or two burnt up.

Starter to the altenator is good. Altenator to the junction block on the firewall I replaced. It had an inline fuse already wired in and I replaced the 30 amp fuse and a new wire even though it wasn't blown. And I put a new fusable link in from the starter to the junction block. I have power to all. It's not a diesel and there is no auxiliary battery. Am I missing one? Should only be 3 right? I know there are more in the diagram you sent but I think I covered it.

ya I think you got them all ok on tis pic see if the large wire on starter has same power as battery like 12.4 with no start. then seeif the purple wire gets power when youtry to start it. it is the "S" terminal on solenoid. if not then it's either the ign switch or the neutral safety switch isn't letting it go through.
