1986 Chevrolet Corvette hood doesnt release

86 vette. the release cable is stretched and the right side wont release at the same time the left side wont lock! I cant get the hood up to replace the cable! any suggestions?

see if you can get a stiff wire similar to a coat hanger and see if you can pry the lh side up a tad to get it in and unlatch it
