water pump replace for Beemer

is it difficult to change a water pump in an 86 BMW 325e ? i can't depend on mechanics so i want to do it myself. it is a six cylinder. thanks

I commend your ambition. You do have mechanical skills, yes? And tools? And the replacement parts? And a place to do the work? To answer the question of "is it difficult" the repair is straightforward, but it is not easy. You may wish to reconsider. If not, come on back and we will see if you are up to the task.
