1986 BMW 318i A noise from Fuel pump

When driving my 1986 BMW 318i, the fuel pump under the car makes a noise inside, as you turn on the ignition key, noise runs on as you keep driving on, and noise gose off when ignition key is turn off.,The car drives well without any problem with less fuel consumption's what can be done to stop car runing with the fuel pump problem, should i replace my fuel pump or what should be done

Some afermarket fuel pumps will be a little noisier than the orignial ones (this is "normal" or a least the "new normal").

Is the noise bearable or do you have to really crank up the radio to drown it out?

Another thing, sometimes the pumps come with various rubber bushings, grommets, etc. be sure that they are in place.
