So I have a 1985 Toyota SR5 Pickup truck, with an inline gas 4 cylinder. The truck has ran perfectly previously, but recently, what I presume to be the wiring harness, was torn.

This wiring harness runs from the dash to the engine bay, to a plug which runs to several things like the lights and alternator, and batter terminals and such.

Anyways, the initial part of the harness is what I'm looking for, but I'm not quite sure how to find it. Once again this is just a series of wires running from the dash to the engine bay.

What is this part called exactly? How do I get another one? Will places like Autozone have one?

Wiring harnesses don't come in part. They come as an entire system for the whole car and they are quite expensive and a lot of work to change. What exactly is wrong with yours? Did rodents chew it up or something? Is it just the covering that has a problem or are the wires themselves damaged?

The wiring harness was chewed up by a dog, and it's pretty bad. It's tore up in two spots, and although I suppose it's repairable, there are at least 6 wires that need to be fixed in two different spots.

I figured with all that, the chances of the wires shorting out, or causing a fire, would increase. Especially it being the wiring harness.
