Recheck your work. EIther you have them too tight or too loose.

tightened 3/4 turn after no movement felt on push rods. chiltons said to do than 1 and 1/2 turns. haynes said to do it 3/4 turn. have done it both ways,neither makes a difference. any other ideas?
