Heater switch

can not move the heater a/c switch lever on 1985 Olds Cutlas.

It's connected through a cable to either the door is jammed or the cable is jammed.

This is not the hot cold lever. That works fine. It is the upper lever that turns on the A/c or the heater or defroster. It moves just a little bit than stops !!!!

That should be a rotary vacuum switch. you will have to pull out the control assembly and see what the problem is.

VEHICLES LESS AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove instrument panel trim panel(s) to expose control unit retaining screws.
3. Remove control unit retaining screws, then carefully draw unit out of instrument panel.
4. Disconnect vacuum and electrical connections, then disconnect temperature control cable.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
