How do I get the transmission into gear?

Nissan 1985 720 The transmission wont go into gear. Clutch is good. Transmisson good. Will go into gear when 4-wheel drive is engaged only. Wont go into 1st gear. Changed whole hydrolic. Don't want to have to tear the transmission out. Help!

it may be the transfer case. you need this checked by a shop to see where the failure is at. assuming what you said is true about the clutch and trans, i would look at the transfer case.
