Can I install the automatic transmission from a 1983 Mazda RX7 iin a 1985 Mazda RX7? Is there a way tih swap can be done? Ihave a 1983 with all of the parts required.

We only recommend direct fit parts because there are so many changes made anymore. Plus, if the computer doesn't recognize every sensor on a different trans, it won't work.

Will someone please tell me if I can bolt in the transmission, crossmember, drive shaft shifter and linkage oil cooler lines from the 83 into my 85? also what sensors would have to be changed? will the computer from the 83 work in the 85? what about wiring harnesses? I am seeking a way to make the swap work.
