The low coolant indication illuminates intermitenly . The coolant level is above the full mark on the tank ?

When I am driving the car, the low coolant indicator comes on intermittenly. It some times comes on and go out. Other times it comes on when the ignition key is turned on to start the car and stays on. The coolant level is above the full line on the tank? What component is bad and where is it located?

It sounds like the sensor in the overflow tank.
