1985 Honda Civic You Remove Speedometer Housing Transmission Removed Retainer

how do you remove the speedometer housing from the transmission? We have removed the retainer clip and mount bolt, but the speedometer housing and gear wont release from the transmission housing. Please help

It is plugged in and after so long, it most probably is stuck. You would need a good grip on the gear to twist it off. Use a screwdriver to pry at the slot for the locking tab to get it moving.
