In 28 years of ownership I have never had a cel. Am getting 12 MPH. Always paid attention to plugs, cap, rotor, and all fluids. Recently changed EGR valve & sensor, (Bellows ruptured) checked reference voltage at MAP sensor and EGO sensor, reads about 5 volts. New TPS in 1993. Ford/Mercury Dealers won't talk to me. I need additional suggestions. Are there checks for an AOD transmission? 5.0 Liter. CFI

Is it the MPG you are worried about or is there a problem with the engine?

THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE MILEAGE MORE INFO-- SINCE NEW THERE WAS A HIGH PITCHED WHINE IN FIRST GEAR. THAT HAS GONE AWAY/GREATLY REDUCED. THAT'S WHY I ASK ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION. THE ENGINE IS GREAT! YOU CAN'T FEEL IT IDLE.
THANKS, JOHN
