I just purchased an 1985 chevrolet s-10, the master cylinder fluid i very low and very dark and brakes are spongey. I need advice.

Low fluid may just be low pads, check this out and you can flush the brake fluid by bleeding at all 4 wheels until old fluid is gone and fresh starts flowing, just do not let the system run dry at the master cylinder.
