I have a 1985 bmw 528e. Trying to change timing belt and I can't seem to get the cooling fan off. Can you help?

The 36mm nut on the fan clutch is a left hand thread and it also takes a holding tool to steady the pulley so the nut at the fan clutch can be turned.

Thanks I had to fabricate a holding tool. But it worked like a charm. Hope to get another 200k out of this engine!
