I've got an 1984 Toyota Hilux. After it reaches operating temp. And I give it a bit of gas it cuts out slowly dying. I replaced the carb and the coil but not the bogeys. Replaced the petrol pump and filter. The new coil is hot after a while and sometimes at the time it dies the feul filter is empty. Feul lines are fine and the tank clean. But the pump is not exactly the same as the old one, but I am unsure if the one I found in there is the original pump. What can be the cause the bakkie cutting out like that?

If the fuel filter is dry, that would indicate a fault with the fuel supply. Loosen the fuel filler cap and test if problm recurrs. You could have a fault with the fuel tank ventilation.
