At idle, everything is smooth but when i, m at the highway around 2000rpm or more it starts to stumble or bogs, from 4th nto 3rd stump on gas it does the same thing even when parked.
Have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, distributor, fuel pump, fuel filter and a fairly new 32-36 weber. Checked timing at 8 degrees.

I'M DEDUCING THAT YOU HAVE A 258 SINCE YOU HAVE A DGEV? PROGRESSIVE? 32/36 WEBER

STRAIGHT OUTTA THE BOX IS JUNK!---I PLAYED WITH MY JETTING FOR OVER A YEAR KEEPING UP WITH EVERY FACTOR IN A LOG BOOK----I STRIPPED A SCREW ON TOP CHANGING MY JETS SO MANY TIMES WITH REALLY NO CLUE AS TO WHAT TO DO. EVEN WITH "HELP" FROM SUPPOSED "HANDPICKED" CARB PEOPLEI MAY CAN SELL YOU A SHIPWAD JETS AND RELATED STUFF THAT I BOUGHT ALONG THE WAYWHEN I STRIPPED THE 2ND SCREWI GOT THE HOLLEY!

I HAD POOR LUCK WITH THE ONE I HAD. COULDA BEEN ME THOUGH

I WENT WITH A HOLLEY 390 4 BBL MOUNTED ON A OFFENHAUSER 4BBL INTAKE.I'M NOT DUMB BY ANY STANDARD----BUT THE BEST RESULTS I GOT ON HOW TO TUNE A CARB WAS FROM A REALLY GOOD WEBSITE----IN FACT IT WAS THE 1ST QUESTION I ASKED HERE IN 2009 WHEN I JOINED----MY ANSWER CAME FROM FROM merlin2021 TOOK ME RIGHT TO THE SITE I'D HEARD A LITTLE ABOUT!

I KNOW HOW TO TUNE THE HOLLEY CORRECTLY NOW. THIS METHOD MAY WORK WITH THE WEBER (I SEE NO REASON WHY IT SHOULD NOT).I BOUGHT WEBER BOOKS AND STILL HAD NO CLUE ON HOW TO JET THE THING RIGHT. MAYBE YOU WILL HAVE BETTER LUCK

MY QUEST WAS TO GET BETTER THAN THE STEADY 15 MPG AND INTERMITTENT 16 MPG I ACHIEVED WITH THE CARTER BBD

WEBER PROMISED MORE."I" DIDN'T GET IT.I NEVER GOT MORE THAN 15 MPG

HOLLEY PROMISED MORE. AT 1ST "NO". AFTER I LEARNED "THE DEAL".I GET 18 MPG, WHEN I DRIVE "NORMAL" AND ON 2 BBLs I ALSO HAVE GREAT POWER WHEN I "GET ON IT" AND THE VACUUM SECONDARIES OPEN UP!

IS YOUR JEEP STILL KINDA FACTORY, OR HAS ALL THE CRAP BEEN REMOVED AND YOU LOOK MORE LIKE A '77 NOW?

GOT AN O2 SENSOR IN THE SIDE OF YOUR EXHAUST MANIFOLD. OR IS IT PLUGGED OFF. IS THE HOLE RUINED AND ONE CANNOT BE RE-INSTALLED?

Thanks for replying! Already did nutter bypass, have new fuel pump and filter, DGEV 32 36
rechecked timing. Was running good for about 1 year before started to act up. Some guys I talked to said to check choke settings. I realy don't know. Jeep runs smooth at idle and around 2500
rpm, but if I floor 3/4 way, it stumbles. It happens at idle or running especially 3rd or second gear.
Weber carb came as a kit with all the linkage, adapters etc.I was also thinking that it happens just as the secondary starts to open.

I CONVERTED MY WEBER (AND HOLLEY) TO A MANUAL CHOKE

I WANT TO BE IN COMMAND!---NOT SOME SPRING OR STICKY LINKAGE

AFTER YOU GET WARMED UP----JUST FOR A TEST----TAKE A "L SHAPED" CLOTHES HANGER OR SIMILAR WIRE AND "HOOK" THE CHOKE BUTTERFLY, AND SORTA WIRE IT SO IT WON'T SHUT!!!

GIVE IT A TRY!

I DOUBT THAT IS THE PROBLEM!

I THINK YOU HAVE TO STAY ON THE 1ST BBL AND GET IT TUNED (JETTED) PERFECTLY (NO FLOORING IT!)

THEN YOU MUST START JETTING THE 2ND BBL TO "COMPLEMENT" THE 1ST ONE

IT'S A COMPLICATED THING W/ A WEBER---YOU HAVE DIFFERENT JETS AND EMULSIFIER (sp?) TUBES AND "AIR DEALEES"----ALL OF THESE MUST BE BE IN SYNC WITH EACH OTHER TO GIVE YOU A PERFECT AIR/FUEL RATIO AT ALL THROTTLE OPENINGS.........FOR THE SPECIFIC WAY YOU WANNA DRIVE IT (FOR ME, IT WAS MILEAGE)...........THAT'S JUST BBL 1.......BBL 2 HAS TO WORK W/ BBL 1 AND DO THE SAME THING AS IT TRANSITIONS FROM ONE TO THE OTHER

I'M SURE A WEBER ROCKET SCIENTIST CAN EZily DO THIS STUFF---I DWN LOADED WEBER INFO AND BOUGHT A "HAYNES" MANUAL SPECIFIC TO WEBERS--EVEN ORDERED THEIR LITTLE BOOK (SEE PART OF IT SHOWING IN MY PIC, LEFT OF THE OTHER MANUALS)

NOT MUCH INFO SPECIFIC TO JUST A DGEV---LOTS FOR THEIR OTHER POPULAR STUFFI SORTA UNDERSTOOD THEIR CONCEPT---I JUST COULD NOT ACHIEVE ITI GAVE IT MORE THAN A FAIR SHOT THAN OTHERS WOULD---I RAN INTO TOO MANY "KNOW IT ALLS"----I COULD WEED OUT THE IGNORANT ONES---AS I LEARNED LINGO AND MEANINGSBUT I DID FINALLY QUIT ON IT!
