Imma CJ kinda guy

Has your engine vacuum lines been modified/ capped/ removed over the years?

I do not know your rig well----I feel sure you have a carburetor?

Is this a 150 or 151 with a 1 or 2 bbl carb?

Gotta repair manual to reference?

What has been done recently. What was done, When you started having issues?

All info may be helpful. Regardless as to how minute!

Done anything to PCV (or related components)? What about fresh air into valve cover, capped crimped etc with those lines?

Your Turn

CJ MEDEVAC is the expert when it comes to jeeps. I owned an 84 with the 4cyl years ago and miss it. The only problem I ever had with it was the carb would come loose. Double check that. I would lose power and it would run really bad. Other than that, it lasted us a long time.

Too much credit J & N, I appreciate Ya'll savin' the CJ stuff for me, that and the Older Fords is about the extent of my Long Term hands on experience. I'm OK with some of the Generic stuff too.

I just do this out of Necessity for myself, family and friends. Mechanical is usually no problem, its these Newer computer rigs that exhibit a Old Car Symptom, but it's actually something CYBER, in the opposite direction!

I do well with what I have to do with what shows up at my house, I must try to learn the New stuff as it shows up!

Thats why I try to help here at 2carfellers, If I can learn it, someone else can too.I learn a good bit here too, if I can just retain it!

With almost any task I do, Carpentry, Cars, computer, (I'm already a plumber)ETC, ETC. Learning is the Key to saving some $$$

By the way, You did see my Jeep Modification Albums (several/ many) Did they give you a Warm Fuzzy?

This post here, dealing with a Pre-'87 Jeep, caught my attention, I had just messed with my buddy's '86 CJ 7 151CID, The day before, we did a little throttle linkage modification, and my old YF did wonders for his!

Normally, I do mention tightness of the Carb, for the CJ 258s, I put removable "Lock Tight" on the ones I help with. Thanks for covering my back!

I had really hoped they woulda come back and give an update, My Dad had died 21 DEC 10, and we buried him at the Veterans Cemetery, Christmas Eve, with Air Force Color Guard performing the Ceremony.

I was needing something to do, to cheer me up

I do this for a Hobby, never had touched Mr. Computer, till I was laid up 1-1/2 Years, broke foot w/ complications, Asked 1 question and got hooked, I never signed up for $$$. Just try to help people who might less Schooled, than Me with some of this stuff.

It's sorta a Soap Opera to me, I want to know if anything I threw out worked. Or made a difference. Even if I never, ever meet the feller!

I reckon, most people view this as a "ANSWER BOX", and do not see the Human Element in it. Heck, with the CJs, (MY FAVORITE GUYS), I take stuff off of my Jeep, just so they can get a Pic of what's going on! I do not have access to those Computer High Tech Repair Manuals (So I cannot throw a pre-made diagram out here) I make my own stuff, to submit!

JB1980---We really like to hear your results, Even Though It's Been A While, and If I'm no help, Jacobandnickolas, May be better. We do try to please!
