JUST ASSUMING IT IS A FUEL PROBLEM
MAYBE YOUR FLOAT IS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, OR NOT ADJUSTED TO THE CORRECT HEIGHT.
OR MAYBE ANOTHER INTERNAL ADJUSTMENT, SUCH AS THE METERING RODS
WAY BACK IN '83, I PULLED MY JEEP CARB, AND LET THE "PROS" REBUILD IT, WHEN I WAS ON LEAVE. IT DONE GOOD FOR A FEW DAYS, AND THEN IT WOULD SORTA DROWN OUT WHEN I STOPPED. GOING DOWN THE ROAD WAS JUST FINE.
OF COURSE IT ACTED UP, ONCE I RETURNED TO SAVANNAH GA; WHERE I WAS STATIONED. UNABLE TO LET THE "PROS", CHECK IT OUT
AFTER ADJUSTING WITH NO GOOD RESULTS, AND PARTIAL DIS-ASSEMBLY, I SORTA LUCKED INTO FINDING THAT THEY LEFT OT THE PIN THAT THE FLOATS PIVOT ON. INSTEAD OF "SEE-SAWING" ON THE PIVOT TO CLOSE OFF THE NEEDLE, IN THE SEAT. IT WOULD KINDA FLOP AROUND, AND REMAIN PARTIALLY OPEN, WITH TOO MUCH FUEL POURING IN, WHEN DEMAND WAS LOW. AS FAR AS, DRIVING, I WAS USING UP THE ACCESS FUEL, THAT WAS SQUEEZING THRU.
EVEN THOUGH IT COULD NOT FULLY CLOSE OFF, IT WAS SOMEWHAT CONTROLLED BY "SOME" FLOAT ACTION.
AT THE TIME, I COULD NOT FIND A NEW PIVOT. SINCE IT WAS JUST A STRAIGHT "BAR", MAYBE AN INCH LONG, AND ABOUT AN EIGHTH OF AN INCH IN DIAMETER. I WAS ABLE TO FIELD EXPEDIENTLY USE A GIANT PAPERCLIP, FROM AN OFFICE SUPPLY STORE, TO MAKE A NEW PIVOT
JUST SOME THOUGHTS, IF CARB BUILDING IS NOT A COMMON THING YOU DO, RECHECK WHAT YOU CAN, A BUDDY MIGHT DETECT SOMETHING THAT YOU DIDN'T.
