When I started the 1984 Camaro it made a big popping noise but I drove it with no problems and everything looks in place what could it be?

CAN YOU TELL WHERE, OR AT LEAST WHICH END OF THE CAR IT'S COMING FROM?

ORIGINATING FROM THE ENGINE/ WHEELS/ TRANNY/ ETC?

DOES THAT PUPPY HAVE A POSI-TRACTION REAR END?

DOES IT MAINLY DO IT WHEN TURNING?

Hi Medic well we started it today and its making a loud noise now only when starting it and the noise stops and its driving great. I don't know much about cars, I've had the car for 8 months now having things done to it and recently the shop put new brakes. A friend recently said my belts are worn. Noticed the steering fluid is leaking. Also needs a new starter so we're putting in a new starter, fixing leak, and belts checked this week. I'm getting the mechanic to check it but what do you think it is?

try pulling plug wires one at a tiem to see if it stops then pull valve cover and look for a broken pushrod/rocker arm or bad cam
