Find a used one in the salvage yard and practice on that one. Use a "flare nut wrench" to prevent rounding off the soft metal nuts on the steel lines. Watch to see if the nuts and lines are corroded together. If they are, the line will twist off. That doesn't matter on the junk car, but if you do that on yours, you'll have to replace that line or a section of it. That makes a lot more work.

If it looks like the line is going to twist, work the nut back and forth to try to free it up. Spray some brake parts cleaner on the line and work the nut back and forth again. This is not a good time to use any type of rust penetrating oil. If just a little petroleum product gets mixed in with the brake fluid, all rubber parts that contact that fluid will be destroyed and those parts will have to be replaced and the steel lines will have to be flushed and dried.
