how do i get the battrie light off

on the dash the battrie light wont go off i replaced the alternator and the battrie i also changed all fuses and are in correct spot but the light still wont go out how do i fix this the vichle is a 1983 hiace auto 4 speed yh50

Does it have an external voltage regulator? If so check that out and double check all the wirin g coming from and to the alternator and also battery connections
