shifts too soon & makes a moaning noise

shifts too soon, uses alot of gas, can shifting be adjusted? also, after engine warms up, while accelerating drives fine, but letting off gas untill just before comming to a complete stop or when breifly moving steering wheel left to right, there is a moaning noise from somewhere in the front end. what could be causing this noise?

trans may have kickdown cable that is adjustable.it is connected to throttle. it may have broke become disconnected. moan could be power steering pump? could be low on fluid?

It has kickdown, Tried adjusting both ways, no difference.
