I have a oil leak in the overhead cam front bearing. Is there any way to seal it? Local garage says they don't know of a way. Love the car, want to keep it.

Where exactly is the leak coming from?

Valve cover gasket?
Camshaft oil seal?
Bearing/oilseal cap?

The usual cause for seals to leak at the camshaft would be throught the seals. Over time, the seal would wear the seats leaving a groove and the seal lips would not be able to seal properly.

To eliminate the problem you can :

1. Install the new seal slightly in or out to prevent the seal lips to be seated on a flat unworn area.
2. Replace the camshaft.
3. Install a new cone on the seal seats, can be done by engineering shops.
