My mother has a Lincoln Mark VI that seems possessed. It starts easy but intermittently won't hardly run, loping wildly and missing and backfiring thru exhaust. Is a v8 with gas throttle body. Have tried fuel additive and injector cleaner but suspect it is a bad sensor or shorted wire sending bogus info to the electronic computer, which then retards the timing to compensate. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
