Help with fuel gauge

How do i trouble shoot 1983 Jaquar XJ6 faulty fuel gauge? I did find a relay in trunk above tank switch

remove the wire going to the sender and ground it to the frame. if the gauge goes up to full then your sender is probably bad. if notthe gague could be bad.

also check to see if power is going through teh fuel change switch as the gague power goes through that.
