What can be wrong if the truck bucks and engine dies if you go over twenty miles per hour.

truck runs fine while ideling but bucks and dies if you go over twenty miles an hour.

I hate to ask this, but does it have a carb? 83 has been awhile for me. Also, have you checked for vacuum leaks? Have you checked fuel pressure and volume? Have you checked the catalytic converter for plugging?

I would recommend checking fuel pump volume as well as checking for intake leaks.
