I put in a rebuilt Chevy 350 with dished pistons, full roller rockers and a mild cam. It was running good when I first put it in but had to rebuild the carb. It has new floats in a 650 Holley doubble pump. Just put new E3 spark plugs in and now the truck runs rough. Pulled the number one plug back out and it is a little fowled out. Sprayed it down and little black specks came out about the size of floor sweep. I don't want to run it any more if something is seriously wrong. I just can't figure it out.

All the plugs are fowled out. I think that my fuel mixture is a little off. I am thinking of cleaning the plugs and put a vac tester on it to see if I have any leaks.

Are you sure the carb floats are set properly? Also, have you adjusted the air / fuel mixture?

I have set it back to the one and half turns for the factory reset on the carb to go from there it I can get it to idle good. I am just worried that the black particles coming out of my exhaust pipes are part of my rings. How do I know for sure.

I would think it is carbon from the engine and nothing to do with the rings.
