Fuel Cap Release

Dear Carpros,
I am having trouble releasing the fuel cap on my rolls royce silver spirit 1982 model. I am pressing the refuel buttton on the left hand side of the dashboard, but the fuel cap will not release. what should I do?

is there any kind of release cable in the trunk area??
