OK so tell me have you checked for any vacuum leaks around the intake and base of carb and so on? Have you double checked the firing order to make sure it isn't off? Have you double checked the timing and check the carb adjustments? Do you know which carb you have?

You say it is injected and it is a 1981? There was no injection in 81. Could you include pic and is this year correct? If so it may be what ford called a veriable venture carb. (see pic below) it is a carburetor not injection. Let me know if it looks correct.

If you don't want to be helpfull and include a pic I can't help. I find no info on injection in 81 on a lincoln. So any thing you can add to help so I can see what type of injection is on it will help. The only info I find is on carburation. I have driven Fords forever and have worked on many. 302 is not a longblock it is a small block as is the 351w that is 1 inch taller in deck height. I know what engines are available I just can't find info on the injection system so if you would include a pic so I can try to help out. What did you set the timing at? I also need to know what color the grommet is on the ignition module. If I remember correctly you should have throttle body injection so tell me when was the fuel filter last replaced?

The control module should be on the left (drivers) fender. I have included 2 pics one as to how it will look the pic included shows a three connector type yours might be only 2 connector. The second one shows the color of the grommet, on the one included the grommet is yellow. So once you find it just go the base of the wires that go into into and see what the color of the grommet. This will tell me what ignition system is being used as there are only about 4 different ones in that year.

Ok do you have a digital multi meter? I would like you to run a test on the throttle position sensor if you don't mind. There should be a dk green wire with a lt green stripe with paper clip back probe this wire. Now if you would set you meter up on 20 volt scale. Now I need you to turn key on engine off. With the meter hooked up you should have.8 to 1 volt with throttle closed. Now slowly lift the throttle the voltage should slowly and steadily increase as you open it with no drops or glitches as you do this. Now at full open throttle it should read about 4.5 to 5 volts. Let me know what you find here ok. We will go from there.
