THE BEST-US THING YOU CAN DO IS FIND OUT WHAT THE ACTUAL OIL PRESSURE IS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DRIVING EXPERIENCE.

A MECHANICAL GAUGE IS BETTER THAN AN ELECTRICAL ONE

TWO WAYS YOU MIGHT GO ABOUT USING ONE

MAKE ONE LIKE MINE (1ST PIC)

OR

PURCHASE AN AFTERMARKET UNDER THE DASH MOUNT UNIT WHICH MAY HAVE A OIL PRESSURE/ VOLTMETER/ TEMP GAUGE/ OTHER, I SUGGEST GETTING ONE YOU REALLY LIKE AND ONE WITH LARGER DIAL FACES. REASON BEING, YOU MAY WANT TO MOUNT IT AND USE IT PERMANENTLY

FOR RIGHT NOW, YOU CAN STRING IT OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD, THROUGH A WINDOW, AND INTO THE SEAT BESIDE YOU.

THE IDEA BEING YOU CAN SEE WHAT IT'S DOING AT ALL TEMPS, THIS MIGHT AID YOU IN DETERMINING IF YOU HAVE A BAD GAUGE, OR IF YOU HAVE THAT OLE WORN ENGINE SYNDROME

IF AVAILABLE FOR YOUR ENGINE, A 'HIGH VOLUME" OIL PUMP MAY UP YOUR PRESSURE FOR A WHILE, IF INDEED IT IS AN ENGINE ISSUE. ON ONE OF MY JEEPS, I MADE IT ABOUT TWO YEARS BEFORE I DECIDED TO REBUILD IT

RETURN TO THIS THREAD WITH GOOD NEWS!

THE AIR STRENGTH COULD BE SEVERAL POSSIBILITIES

IF THE SPEEDs IS ONLY ONE SPEED NOW, THIS COULD BE A BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR FAILURE

THE INTERNAL BLEND DOORS IN MODERN VEHICLES ARE NOW CONTROLLED BY VACUUM (POSSIBLE CRACKS IN PLASTIC PARTS/ HOSES OR ACTUATORS (JAMMED/ LINKAGE ISSUES/ DEFECTIVE. IN THE GOOD OLE DAYS, IT WAS ALL CABLES (LIKE THE OLE PUSH MOWER THROTTLE)

THEN YOU HAVE THINGS LIKE A STUCK OR PARTIALLY STUCK BLEND DOOR, I'VE SEEN PENCILS/ SUCKER AND POPSICLE STICKS/ ETC DROPPED DOWN DEFROST DUCTS. MOUSE NESTS/ DIRT DAUBER NESTS/ NAPKINS FED OR SUCKED INTO THE "RETURN AIR", NOW LAYING OVER 1/3 OF THE INSIDE OF THE SQUIRREL CAGE FAN.

EVEN THE OLE SOFT DRINK DASH DUMPAGE CAN MAKE THINGS "STICKY" ON DOWN THE LINE!

THEN THE NORMAL STUFF, DIRT DUST CAKED IN THE HEATER CORE AND EVAPORATOR FINS. DUST BUILDS UP IN THE BACKSIDE OF THE SQUIRREL CAGE FAN FINS. HOW 'BOUT A CRUSTIFIED CABIN AIR FILTER?

IF YOU USE A HEATER SETTING THAT HAS "DEFROST" IN IT, THE A/C COMPRESSOR COMES ON SO THAT THE EVAPORATOR CAN REMOVE MOISTURE FROM THE AIR, BEFORE THE AIR HITS THE WINDSHIELD (SO REALLY, THE A/C IS ON)

NO EXPLANATION FOR THE MPGs, TO BE FAIR AND MORE TOWARD ACCURATE, THE SITUATION MUST BE EXACTLY REPLICATED. THE SAME ROUTE/ WEIGHT/ FUEL WEIGHT TOO/ CONDITIONS/ TEMP/ SPEEDS/ CRUISE CONTROL MIGHT FACTOR OUT SOME HUMAN ERROR / ETC

I HAVE 2 PICS, THEY SORTA DON'T DO JUSTICE TO THE DIRT THAT WAS ACTUALLY PRESENT.
