1981 Other Chevrolet Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100k + miles

I have a detached hood latch cable under the hood
how on earth do i open my hood?
Im pretty handy at figuring out almost anything...& im a pretty fair mechanic.........this one has me stumped

you can either reach it from the bottom with your hand, it won't be easy, or a longer screwdriver fromthe front through the grill. there is a small latch at the bottom of the hood latch itself. once you pop that it should open the regular way.

I have a 2003 Hyundai Sante Fe with a detached or broken cable, I don't see any small latch in this vehicle. Is there something else I can do
